Mancini Concert (1971)
Touted as an album spanning generations, Mancini Concert covers marches, early jazz, folk, and rock. The album includes favorites of the then-youth and standards familiar to their parents.
With Simon and Garfunkel, The Who, and Jesus Christ, Superstar representing the somewhat rebellious late-60s youth, it's the music of their stuffy forebearers that contains the most excitement. The swinging "Big Band Montage" showcases Mancini's bankable talent for jazz arrangements. Conversely, his mostly subdued rock-n-roll treatments, though not without flourishes, play like reinterpreted incidental soundtracks.

Really nice one. I love the medleys on this album.
Excelente! Meus agradecimentos.
I have been looking for this album since 1972 when I first heard it. I found it once in a stereo store as a demonstration record...they wouldn't sell it. I never ran across it again. I still remember the wind chimes at the beginning of the Simon and Garfunkel selection. I would love to acquire this album, but I can find no links. I also can't find a way to send you an upload (I haven't found anything worthy yet, but I'm looking) It would be a tremendous favor if you could let me know how to download this brilliant album.
Thank you. As soon as I put on Portrait Of Simon tears came to my eyes. I'm sure it is nostalgia and a good bit of finding something that I have sought for forty years, but it also your kindness in re-upping this. Thank you so very much.
