In 1987 a dutch singer called Peter Douglas won a televisionshow called the Soundmixshow (elsewhere known as Stars in their eyes). In this show he impersonated Frank Sinatra with the song New York, New York. From that time on he made several perfomances as Frank Sinatra and sang with many orchestras. In Germany he sang with the orchestras of Hugo Strasser and Werner Tauber.
In 1996 this ballroom album was made by Klaus Hallen in a series of ballroom albums tributing different artists.

Russ Morgan (1904-1969) was an American big band conductor and arrranger. Besides this he also played piano, trombone, vibraphone, celeste, marimba and organ. In the recordings he made he used vocals as well and sang most of the male vocals himself. He was one of the co-writers of the popular song You're nobody till somebody loves you. After his death in 1969 his son Jack started leading the orchestra. In 2010 the orchestra celebrated it's 75th anniversary.
This album must have been made sometime in the sixties, but I haven't been able to figure out exactly when.

SIR GEORGE SHEARING DIES AT 91
NEW YORK,-- One of the world's most influential and beloved jazz pianists and composers, Sir George Shearing, died shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning of cardiac arrest. Shearing was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2006. A popular recording artist and concert performer, SheaRing composed over 300 songs including the jazz standard "Lullaby of Birdland. Shearing is survived by his wife Ellie. 
Funeral arrangements are pending.
