If you can believe it, this was a promotional record created by the Pharmaceutical company who made the drug Placidyl (ethchlorvynol).
This quote comes from the bottom of the Lp's back cover:
"All through the night, you and your patients can rest assured with PLACIDYL."

I can only imagine that Doctors were handing these out with prescriptions for the drug.

I'm terribly amused by the thought of people popping pills and dropping the needle on Percy Faith in order to get a good night's rest. :)); 7 september 2008 19:26

There was also a promotional Jackie Gleason album released by the same pharmaceutical company, but the tracks were especially recorded for it.

Another question: Is there a Faith recording of the MISS MARPLE'S THEME? I was under the impression that I heard such a thing once, but on CD samplers there's always the composer Ron Goodwin's "Orchestra" listed. Any info on that...?; 8 september 2008 12:24
